Erling Haaland has expressed confidence in Pep Guardiola’s ability to reverse Manchester City’s poor form, despite recent struggles.
City’s latest setback came in a 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa at Villa Park, marking their sixth loss in the last eight league games.
The reigning champions now trail league leaders Liverpool by nine points, having played two more games.
Haaland, however, insisted that the team stands firmly behind Guardiola, emphasizing their faith in his leadership to navigate through this challenging period.
“He has won the Premier League six times in seven years, and we’ll never forget that,” Haaland told TNT Sport. “He always finds solutions and has done so every season.
We still trust him and need to work harder than ever now.”
The Norwegian also reflected on his own struggles, admitting, “I haven’t been good enough, missing chances I should score. I need to improve.”
He acknowledged the team’s dip in confidence, saying, “Confidence affects everyone, but we must stay positive and keep going despite the challenges.”
