Former Manchester United captain Gary Neville has revealed that Marcus Rashford could leave the club in January.
It’s worth noting that the England international has not been included in the matchday squad for the last three games.
In an interview with the club’s website, Neville suggested that Rashford might follow in the footsteps of Jadon Sancho, who moved to Chelsea.
“There are examples of players who have faced difficulties at United,” Neville said. “Jadon Sancho has gone to Chelsea and is performing better, Scott McTominay wasn’t struggling but left for Napoli and is thriving. So, Marcus might also feel that a move is the right decision for him.”
“It’s no longer major team news.
It’s becoming somewhat of a pattern, one that has emerged over the past week. Last weekend was a surprise.
When you leave him out for three consecutive games, it’s clear something significant is wrong or has gone wrong.
It’s not looking good for either Marcus’ future at the club or Manchester United’s chances of keeping him.
I suspect we’re reaching the point where the situation is heading toward an inevitable conclusion.
It’s becoming a distraction for the manager. It’s clear that a move might be necessary, and the club likely wants him to leave—this could ultimately benefit both sides.”
