Former Chelsea midfielder Oscar has rejoined his boyhood club São Paulo after 14 years, including a lengthy stint in Chinese football with Shanghai Port.
São Paulo president Julio Casares shared photos celebrating the move, calling it “a super transfer.”
Oscar, 33, expressed gratitude to Shanghai Port for his eight years there, highlighting their shared achievements.
Joining São Paulo on a free transfer, Oscar is reported to have signed a three-year deal, though official terms remain undisclosed.
Oscar is returning to São Paulo, the club he controversially left in 2010 after a legal dispute to join Internacional.
In 2012, he moved to Chelsea, winning a Europa League title and two Premier League trophies.
Oscar transferred to Shanghai Port during Chelsea’s 2016–17 season for a reported $73 million, winning three Super League titles and gaining popularity in Asia.
Representing Brazil at the 2014 World Cup, he scored the team’s sole goal in their infamous 7-1 semifinal loss to Germany.
