Former England goalkeeper David James has advised Tottenham against sacking manager Ange Postecoglou despite the team’s struggles.
Following Spurs’ 6-3 loss to Liverpool, which left them in the lower half of the table, James encouraged fans to support Postecoglou and allow him time to rebuild.
Speaking to BBC Sport, James noted that Tottenham could have secured a better result if they hadn’t faced Liverpool, emphasizing the importance of patience and resilience during challenging times.
“When discussing the Premier League, this Tottenham side under Ange Postecoglou was never expected to compete for the title this season.
His focus is on securing a trophy.
As a Spurs fan, I’d see the opportunity in two semi-finals and a final. Winning three games could deliver the trophy Ange promised.
This represents the crucial stepping stone Spurs need—not immediate consistency or a title challenge, but building momentum and achieving tangible success first.”
