Newcastle United triumphed 3-1 over Brentford in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals on Wednesday.
Sandro Tonali opened the scoring in the 9th minute and doubled the lead just before halftime in the 43rd minute.
Fabian Schar extended Newcastle’s advantage to 3-0 in the 69th minute.
Brentford’s Yoane Wissa scored a late consolation goal in the 91st minute.
In other quarter-final action, Arsenal overcame Crystal Palace 3-2, with Gabriel Jesus scoring a hat-trick.
At St. Mary’s, Southampton were defeated 2-1 by Liverpool, with Darwin Nunez and Harvey Elliott scoring for the visitors.
