“Real Madrid are reportedly prepared to part with Aurelien Tchouameni and may offer him as part of a deal to secure Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez.
Tchouameni, who joined Los Blancos for approximately £85m from Monaco in the summer of 2022, has made 102 first-team appearances across all competitions.
The 24-year-old dealt with some minor injuries last season but still featured in 38 matches for Carlo Ancelotti’s squad, contributing to their La Liga, Champions League, and Supercopa de Espana victories.
This season, Tchouameni has started in 13 of Real Madrid’s 15 matches, primarily playing as a defensive midfielder and occasionally filling in at central defense.
Despite his consistent involvement, Spanish outlet Relevo (via Sports Mole) reports that Real Madrid are now open to selling the Frenchman, who has seen his standing decline at the Santiago Bernabeu due to a drop in form.
Although Ancelotti still believes in Tchouameni’s potential and sees him as the top option for the midfield pivot role, the club’s management reportedly favors Eduardo Camavinga and is now willing to authorize a move for Tchouameni, who was previously considered untouchable.
According to a separate report from Fichajes, Real Madrid might include Tchouameni in a deal to acquire Chelsea’s Fernandez.
Los Blancos are prepared to bid around €100m (£84.4m) for Fernandez but may need to sell Tchouameni or use him in a part-exchange to facilitate the transfer.
Should Madrid decide to offload Tchouameni, it could draw attention from Premier League clubs such as Manchester United and Liverpool, who have been linked to the midfielder.”
“Chelsea previously showed interest in Tchouameni before his high-profile transfer to Real Madrid, but it remains uncertain if they would consider revisiting that interest anytime soon.
The West London club is not believed to be actively seeking to offload Fernandez, who has played 74 matches for Chelsea across all competitions since his £107m move from Benfica in January 2023, contributing seven goals and six assists.
However, according to Fichajes, the 23-year-old Argentina international might be open to a ‘change of scenery’ due to limited playing time under Enzo Maresca and perceived ‘stagnation in the club’s project.’
Fernandez is contracted to Chelsea for more than seven years, and the club’s midfield options also include Moises Caicedo, Romeo Lavia, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, and Cesare Casadei.
Fernandez isn’t the only midfielder on Real Madrid’s radar; Relevo has reported that the Spanish club could also intensify their pursuit of Manchester City’s Rodri if Tchouameni were to be sold.”
